Bury: Metrolink

Extending the service to more people and places
Metrolink’s network expansion will result in a major increase in the destinations that can be reached from Bury stations by tram.

To handle the increased demand for Metrolink, double trams will be run on all services at peak periods, almost doubling the capacity for passengers.

Better rush-hour service
Extra trams have already been ordered to increase the space for passengers on Bury services. All trams running from Bury at peak time will be twice as long as they are today.

More secure services
Extra security features, including CCTV, will be installed at all major stations. These will improve personal safety and confidence for all passengers.
