Extending the service into the heart of Oldham
A new 2km Metrolink extension into the heart of Oldham will make the town centre much more easily accessible.
And as part of the expansion of Metrolink, the town will gain new tram stops at Westwood, King Street, Oldham Central and a relocated Oldham Mumps, making a wide variety of destinations easily accessible.
These extensions are in addition to the recently announced funding to convert the existing railway line into a Metrolink extension from Manchester Victoria to Rochdale Railway Station (including the 13.9km in Oldham).
Frequency of the service
On weekdays during the day, there will be a tram every six minutes from Shaw and Oldham to and from the city centre.
