Trafford: Train

Trafford is served by routes through Urmston and Altrincham. Currently these two local services are operated by 20 carriages at peak times. The Department for Transport is committed to providing additional capacity on trains, adding extra carriages for peak services, and where necessary, extending station platforms to accommodate them.

The train stations at Flixton and Hale will be more welcoming and secure, with CCTV, real-time information systems, improved signs and other refurbishments.

A new interchange for Metrolink and local bus services will be built at White City, replacing the MUFC Halt. This will improve access to Old Trafford and Salford Quays. This will also make it easier to transfer to local bus services and the Metrolink services through Trafford Bar and Pomona.
