GM Future Transport - what's on offer?

• Up to £3 billion spent on public transport improvements - at least 80% in place before congestion introduced
• New bus routes and more frequent services
• 120 new Yellow School Buses
• Easier and safer to walk and use bikes
• More Metrolink routes
• More carriages on peak time trains and refurbished train stations
• A new smart travelcard ticket for use on all public transport
• A weekday peak time only congestion charge will be introduced in 2013
• Fewer than 20% of peak time drivers in Greater Manchester will pay a charge
• This will transform public transport in Greater Manchester by 2013
